The Most Expensive Home Theater System you'll never see nor hear!

WOW to the MAX!!!

Let's have some FUN!
Maybe you'll hit the lottery, or settle a nice malpractice case and feel the big bucks burning a home-theater-hole in your pocket!

I don't expect to ever see or hear this system, but the various components are highly regarded... certainly among, if not the absolute best, in their class. It's all subjective!

Of course, we'll leave out the cost of the architect and building the room. Your mileage may vary on that one. Palace? Compound? Castle? Crib? It's all different.

And I am forced to leave out the cost of the screen. Not sure what size you'd want. Plus, I couldn't find good data on the pro cinema screen retailers, in case you wanted big. The projector is good to a 40 foot wide picture.

The Projection system: $123,200

The SONY QUALIA SRX-R110, ($123,200)

Qualia High-Definition Projector
SXRD is a "4K" projector that offers unprecedented features such as a 4096 x 2160 pixel resolution and a high contrast ratio.

It uses a Silicon X-tal Reflective Display (SXRD) imaging device that enables it to achieve nearly four times the pixel count of current HD displays. That's SMALL, Jeeves.

On a 27-foot wide, 16:9 screen, each pixel is only about the size of the letter `e' in Liberty on a quarter.

Scaler: $3,500

The Algolith Dragonfly with HQV ($3,500)

video Processing by Algolith Quick jump to VIDEO PROCESSING

HDMI in and out

Ability to de-interlace and scale SD/HD images, including 1080i.

The Dragonfly will up or down scale, de-interlace and cadence correct any signal from 480i to 1080p using Silicon Optix’s exceptional Realta platform with Hollywood Quality Video™ (HQV) technology.

The Dragonfly is ideal for use with Standard definition DVDs, Satellite TV or Digital cable signals, to up or downscale any resolution video signal, matching your display’s specific native resolution.

The product incorporates Silicon Optix’s Realta engine, a highly integrated System-On-Chip, enabling new benchmarks of video excellence.

Its unique architecture incorporates the industry's first fully software programmable video array processor capable of performing over 1 trillion operations per second.

Through its USB port, the fully upgradeable Dragonfly stays at the bleeding-edge of video processing technology and is virtually future-proof.

Surround Sound Speakers: $675,000

Wilson Audio Alexandria X-2 ($135,000 per pair)

We'll spec five of these, for left center and right front and left and right rear.

The Alexandrias are said to have amazing dynamic range, yet can play quietly with great nuance. Reviewers have been awestruck by their $44,000 baby brother, and indeed claimed that one's baby brother at about $22,000 was top rated. So the pedigree is there, performance and price through the roof, and you can be assured this IS the audio BLING with Robb Report panache.

Just 5 of these; it's a simple expensive system.

225 Watts

Distortion of less than 1000 parts per billion, this ensuring that the fidelity of each pure tone at full power up to (20kHz) is reproduced at better than 99.9999% purity across the entire audio range.

The HALCRO amplifiers are designed to drive all loudspeakers, including electrostatics.

Four input options:- Balanced voltage input -Unbalanced voltage input - Current input -Minimal path voltage input.

Universal power factor corrected power supply with a power factor of one, which automatically operates from 85V through to 270V r.m.s. without any internal or external switches.

Series and common mode filtering on the mains input.

Superior industrial grade components used throughout the circuitry to ensure perfect audio reproduction and maximize reliability.

Elegant aluminum casing with a satin anodized finish.

Solid Rosewood feet in a satin finish.

7 Year Warranty.

Speaker Cable: $58,750

Transparent OPUS MM ($23,500 for an 8 foot pair.) 2.5 pair

Interconnect Cable, audio: $100,500

Transparent Opus MM balanced, ($16,750 pair 1 meter)

Now we might opt away from these and go with another type of connection, but for flexibility and to run up the credit card, let's go with 6 pair. And let's just pray they give you a package deal so the extra long runs to the subwoofers won't cost more (but you know in your Sheik-y heart it will.)

CD, SACD, DVD-Audio/ Video Player: $13,000

Esoteric UX-1($13,000)

Naw, it doesn't do Hi-def yet but it's top of the line and you want one now.

Power Protection: $3,800

Adept Response High Resolution Master Power Conditioner ($3,800)

A cutting edge design intended to provide the best power conditioning possible without limiting dynamics, this little beauty is not needed for the Halcros, but for everything else that runs on juice.

Main power cable included: Standard 6 ft. 10 AWG powerChord by Audience with Neutrik 20A PowerCon® and Marinco power connectors

Low resistance, heavy duty magnetic circuit breaker power switch

No high resistance type series inductors Ultra-high efficiency filter components on every outlet Double filtering between outlets for maximum component to component isolation Dynamic range performance maximized by partial power factor correction Entire audio and/or video system can be powered by a single Adept Response power conditioner Audience Auricap High Resolution Capacitors used exclusively in filter sections Digital incoming voltage readout on front panel Entire electrical circuitry cryogenically treated.

15A or 20A/120V, 220V, 230V, 240V

12 Hubbell high conductivity power receptacles

Ground loop isolation transformer for hum reduction

Front panel digital LED incoming voltage readout

Heavy duty, rack-mountable

Controller: $17,500

Theta Casablanca controller ($17,500)

At this price level you don't go with Receivers - you go with separates, and this baby has more configurations than a troup of contortionists at a game of Twister.

I don't dare print the possibilities or the web will shut down. But, here's this teaser:

Casablanca III offers extensive Input Jack to Input Source Selection Routing. Any of the 18 Audio Inputs and up to 10 Video Inputs can be routed to any or all of the 12 Input Selectors. Each Input Selector can have up to 6 audio and up to 6 video sources routed to it.
